Our sympathies are with you and your family. David was a wonderful man who seemed to spread warmth and cheer to all he met.

May God be with Chef Dato's family! Since the first time I met Chef Dato (and ate his delicious food!) I have been singing his praises. His joy, zeal, passion, and warmth were so obvious! He was a gift to the Latrobe community and will be dearly missed!

Dear Kara, Jakob, Luca, and Ava

Our hearts are broken. We will dearly miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are being sent to you.
God blessed Dato with a passion for feeding people and in doing so he fed not only the bodies but the hearts as well. Those of us lucky to have known him will be blessed with his memory forever.

Love,
Paula, Tom and Justin

I am very sorry for your loss. My family & I enjoyed good times at Chef Dato's. His food was wonderful, but his personality was even better. His smile was genuine. It was easy to see his love for family, friends, food & hospitality.
God Bless All Of You.

I just wanted to offer our condolences to Chef Dato's family. I heard about the tragic loss this morning and was very saddened by the news. I got to know Chef Dato when he would go to Giant Eagle in Latrobe and teach little kids how to cook things. This was about 6 1/2 yrs. ago. We still to this day make the perogies he taught my oldest daughter, who was 3 then. My daughter and I will make them more often now in his honor. God Bless you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his personal and extended restaurant family.
